“Nervousness Fangs” – New Music from Will Johnson

Prolific Austin songwriter and Grammy contender Will Johnson has unleashed “Nervousness Fangs”, his first since his 2016 Record Store Day 7″ single, “Inclined”; the ethereally rootsy home-recording is getting an official release through Johnson’s longtime label home Misra Records. He’s hitting the road for a run of tour dates before the year ends, supporting Bob Mould next week in Dallas, then opening up for Jason Isbell on a string of Southern dates.

Perhaps best known as the drummer in the indie rock supergroup Monsters of Folk alongside Jim James, Conor Oberst, M. Ward, and Mike Mogis, Johnson has had an incredible career as a singer-songwriter and musician. He’s fronted various influential indie bands, and teamed up with Jay Farrar, Jim James, and more on the Woody Guthrie archive project New Multitudes, to create a tribute album of new music from Guthrie’s unrecorded lyrics to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Guthrie’s birth.
