Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery has announced that he will be releasing his sophomore album, Let Bad In, on May 27th via Believe Recordings. Let Bad In blends Americana and hip-hop influences in a grainy voice with a deep soul impulse over processed beats and sumptuous strings that ultimately create a “very personal album” says the singer. He explains, “I have written 10 songs based all around that nostalgic innocence of youth and now, older, I look at things, what things I face in the future. How I felt about certain things at a certain age or point in my life, others reflective as an older version of myself looking back then forward.” Let Bad In is essentially an album based on the naivety of childhood and the loss of innocence with age.
Ciaran kicked off the album release announcement with the premiere of his first single, “Return To Form”; the track is a song that brings it all home, looking at his early years with a twinge of nostalgia. When asked about the single, the singer explains it perfectly; “There are elements of both my past and present in there. I think everyone envies the child they were, for the fearlessness they once had and can never recapture.” Ciaran will be performing “Return To Form” and previewing other songs off the 10-track album at this year’s SXSW, playing seven different showcases including performances at Spotify House, TuneCore’s showcase, Paradigm’s showcase and the Heartbreak BBQ at Willie Nelson’s Ranch.
