With uninhibited folk tones tinged by another time, Former Belle returns to bring fresh takes on the folk tradition inspired by artists both old and new. Led by singer-songwriter and CRUISR guitarist Bruno Catrambone, and calling to mind the melancholy of Elliott Smith and Bright Eyes, the outfit will release their latest 6-track EP Foreign Bed on April 8th, their first release on Randm Records.
Akin to the changing season, Foreign Bed ebbs and flows from moments of acoustic stillness to triumphant synth lines. Inspired by personal life changes as well as the desire to figure out what it all means, Catrambone composed the EP in segments in his time off from CRUISR shows. The album single, “Honey Bee”, features a simple piano cadence and classic folk strum that follows questions asked in vain.
