Lord Huron is contributing five songs to the soundtrack for the upcoming feature A Walk In The Woods, including a brand new song, “The Birds are Singing at Night.” The new track, which can be heard here, is premiering today at Vulture, who praised the track, calling it “a slow-burning folk tune that captures the spiritual and transcendental intensity of America’s most iconic mountain range.” Of the band’s inclusion in the soundtrack, director Ben Kwapis explains, “Our biggest musical challenge was how to represent the majesty of the Appalachian Trail, its jaw-dropping vistas, its forbidding mountains and blessedly untamed wildlife. The answer came in the form of Lord Huron.” The soundtrack is out digitally tomorrow, September 4th, via Varèse Sarabande.
Lord Huron will tour throughout the fall to celebrate the release of their latest critically acclaimed album Strange Trails. Their live performance is utterly magical; if you’ve never had the great fortune to see them in person, make sure you catch their show when they head your way:
