Get Ready for Medicine Stone 2017!

It’s tribal but it’s libel to make you wobble and bobble. It’ll put your head right and make your heart light as a feather. Whether fair or inclement weather. I just love the way they love to get together and get down home at the MEDICINE STONE.” -Kevin Russell/Shinyribs

One of three music festivals I look forward to every year. There is not a bad act in the bunch. Spent a lot of time on that river growing up. Feels good to be an Okie!” -Cody Canada/Cody Canada and The Departed

Medicine Stone is one of our favorite festivals of the year and for good reason. It’s been pretty incredible to watch it grow from just an idea back in 2013 into one of the premiere destinations of the festival season. Hats off to Turnpike and Boland for bringing in the best talent in the country, year after year, and cultivating such an amazing fanbase that is willing to support it. Always an honor when we get the invite and we can’t wait to be back again this year.” -BJ Barham/American Aquarium

“It’s not hard to believe that Medicine Stone has grown so big, so fast. When you combine great music with a great venue, and top notch production, it’s a win-win for both the artists and the fans.”-Gary Braun/Reckless Kelly

It’s inspiring to be a part of something that’s growing so rapidly and to see the flood of music lovers as they pour in by the camper-load.” -Red Shahan

It’s no secret these days that Oklahoma’s red dirt is fertile ground for Americana music–within the  landscape lives a slew of alternative subgenres made of motley sounds cultivated from that soil. Since the 1990s, a long continuous string of touring giants emerged that wave the Red Dirt flag, including Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, Turnpike Troubadours, Reckless Kelly, Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Jack Ingram, and Chris Knight to name a few.

After noticing that high-caliber music festivals were mainly held down in Texas, Jason Boland and The Stragglers and Turnpike Troubadours decided to bring a top notch event closer to home, and closer to their fans in the surrounding states where these kinds of artists tour regularly and MEDICINE STONE was born, with thousands in attendance in its very first year.

Along with its founders, additional performers this year include The Randy Rogers Band, Cody Canada and the Departed, Shinyribs, Jonny Burke, Lucero, Mike McClure, Sunny Sweeney, Mike & The Moonpies, Kaitlin Butts, Bruce Robison, Aaron Einhouse, American Aquarium, Bri Bagwell, Dalton Domino, Dirty River Boys, Jamie Wilson, Randy Crouch & Flying Horse, Red Dirt Rangers, Byron Berline Band, Raised Right Men, Red Shahan, Monica Taylor, Shane Smith and the Saints, Thomas Trapp, The Washitas, and Jacob Tovar.

The Fifth Annual MEDICINE STONE music event will be held at the Diamondhead Resort in Tahlequah, Oklahoma September 21-23. Be sure to get your tickets! Click HERE for more information.
