Ron Pope, Nashville-based singer/songwriter and all-around force to be reckoned with, has been in the studio diligently working on his next record, which is set for release later this year.
Pope and company put their kickstands down at Welcome To 1979, Nashville’s largest analog studio, to record; the new album features his signature gut-punching, heart-wrenching storytelling, brought to life with southern rock-centric percussive drive, big ass horns, and a little front porch twang. You can get a taste of what’s in store with “Bad For Your Health,” the album’s first single, available here.
In this exclusive video, Pope shows us favorite records from his personal collection, and, breaking from tradition, speaks of the inspiration behind the single. We also get a sneak peek into the process with behind-the-scenes footage, so buckle up, and get ready for the greatness to come:
