“How Quickly Your Heart Mends” – New Music from Courtney Marie Andrews

Washington state songstress Courtney Marie Andrews is a powerful new voice on the Americountry scene–in these days of cash-driven mediocre pop country being fed to the teeming masses, Andrews is poised to take her place on the podium alongside new traditionalists like Margo Price and Nikki Lane, whose music will stand the test of time.

Her new single, “How Quickly Your Heart Mends”, from her forthcoming album Honest Life, out August 19th via Mama Bird Recording Company, features bright honky tonk-inspired piano that dances with unassuming pedal steel throughout, while Andrews’ crystalline voice enters the ears and heads straight for the heart. Don’t be deceived by its upbeat tempo, this song is 100 percent about a heartbroken woman.  “During my bartending shifts, I had met this woman many times,” explains Andrews of her song’s subject. “She is beautiful, but still somehow, she searches for love that is a faded red, white, and blue.  In some ways she is strong, for enduring so much heartbreak. In other ways, she is naive, for believing that love can save her, and that it’s hers to own. I’ve always been drawn to the flaws in my characters, because that is what makes them more relatable and more human.”
