Pew Playlist: 3 Songs That Should Be On Your Radar, 4/22/16

“Get on the Floor”- C.W. Stoneking
Award-winning Australian artist C.W. Stoneking has a new album, Gon’ Boogaloo, set for release June 3rd via his own King Hokum Records, and “Get on the Floor” is the lead single…and Lord have mercy, it’s a toe-tapper.  You can almost hear the antique crackle of dusty vinyl in the recording; Stoneking hollers and howls like a blues boss–sometimes, it seems like music revivalists are just playing dress-up, but C.W. Stoneking is the real deal.
“Way Down We Go” – Kaleo
Kaleo brings some serious heat with their single “Way Down We Go.”  A phenomenon in their home country of Iceland (I know, right?), the four piece has created a near-perfect blend of folk, blues, country, and rock with their music.  Frontman JJ Juliusson’s  powerfully stirring vibrato makes me feel things.  All the things.
“Hurtin’ (On The Bottle)” – Margo Price
Country music traditionalist Margo Price recently released Midwest Farmer’s Daughter via Third Man Records on March 25th, and it’s a stunner, y’all.  With all the elements of a refreshingly true and honest country song firmly in place, “Hurtin’ (On The Bottle)” is an instant classic.  Swoon.
